Well. Its been awhile. And I still perform about the same. Went bowling. Haven't been in a long time. My score, even after a relapse, is still average. But I had fun with friends and family, and that's all that matters.

Proud to serve

A thought crossed my mind tonight. Having and wearing this badge, doesn't keep me safe and out of harms way. I do feel pride and honor. As God let's me everyday, I will do my best to help and save lives of the people around me and my city. This badge also reminds me of the men and women who do what I do on a daily basis, but don't come home. Everyday, these risktakers lose their life battle. I truly am proud to serve alongside them. If u get a chance, and you see one. Take the time to thank them. You never know, it might your life or house they will be saving next time.

Procession

Today, I went to a funeral of my great grandmother. It was a rather dreary rainy day but a good service. Driving to the ceremony for graveside, took us down this back stretch of road to nowhere. It kinda reminded me of such movies like "the blair witch project" and "wrong turn". Secluded and kinda creepy. Thank god, I never heard banjos playing!

Fun till the cops show up

Had an issue at work tonight, when I dropped the money of at the bank drive-thru night deposit. It went so well ( it really didn't ), that I had to involve the local law enforcement. But all was resolved without me leaving in handcuffs or getting into trouble!

Candy

The one thing I never get tired of is candy. I have a severe sweet tooth. My favorite is hard candy ( sweettarts, runts and gobstoppers ) notice how most all candy names out there sound like a birth defect. My grandfather always says he won't eat anything that sounds like it was born with issues. But I say bring on the yummy goodness. Mmmm mmm !

Whether I'm working a scene or I'm a passer-byer. Seeing a fatal wreck still gets the adrenaline going. Sometimes I wish I could stop at every wreck I see and offer assistance. Welcome back.

To see this not once, but twice, made me appreciate where i live. Yes, I'm a Texan by birth, but living in big orange country, makes up for what I miss from home.

Night drive home.

This photo was taken on my drive home from work. I see this every night i drive home. The dark night on a lonely road. I use this time to reflect on the day and calm my nerves. Some people hate driving. It doesn't bother me. This also reminded me of the intro to the TERMINATOR ( with the dialogue of Sarah Conner in the background ). Or the movie " Lost highway".

And so another project, that a few people i know, have started, has inspired me to start one as well. The project consists of taking a picture, one a day and publishing it for all to see. Its called project 365. But i like to call it, " Through the eyes of a king ". Being day one, this sunset inspired me to make this the first. A new year, a bright sun, the open road ahead. What this year has in store for us, is an endless amount of possibilities. An endeavor, which we must take, one day at a time!
